Mazars strengthens risk management function with new director Shireen Tan

12 July 2022: Mazars in Singapore, the international audit, tax and advisory firm has appointed a new Risk Management Director, Shireen Tan effective 12 July 2022. In this newly established role, Shireen will be reporting to Lai Keng Wei, Head of Risk Management and Valuations and to the Executive Committee (EXCO).

Shireen Tan is a risk management specialist with over 20 years of professional experience in audit services and risk and compliance from Big Four accounting firms.

Shireen started her career as an auditor in a Big Four firm in Malaysia before relocating to Singapore in 2007. She brings with her 6 years of audit experience where she performed audits of firms of all sizes from multinationals to local companies. She supported clients from a diverse range of industries including manufacturing, trading, construction, property development and agricultural industries.

Prior to joining Mazars, Shireen spent over 14 years in the quality and risk management function of a Big Four firm, specialising in the areas of independence and regulatory compliance. She was a strong contributor in the implementation of risk policies and participated actively in various quality initiatives.

With her extensive experience and in-depth knowledge in risk management, Shireen will help to expand the risk management function in Mazars in Singapore. She will perform a key role in strengthening the firm’s compliance with professional standards whilst contributing to the overall development of the firm’s quality management system.

Shireen graduated with a Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) from RMIT University, Australia and is a member of CPA Australia.
