Mazars Partner Keng Wei Lai re-appointed to the ACRA Complaints and Disciplinary Panel and Disciplinary Panel under IVAS

We are proud to announce that our Partner and Head of Valuations & Risk Management Keng Wei Lai has been re-appointed for 2 panels under the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA).

He will continue as a member of the Complaints and Disciplinary Panel by the Public Accountants Oversight Committee (PAOC) from 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2025.

In his first tenure, Keng Wei served as a member of the panel from 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2021 and for his second term, he served from 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2023. With this re-appointment, he will serve the third term with the Complaints and Disciplinary Panel until 2025.

In his role, Keng Wei will review complaints against public accountants, accounting corporations, accounting firms and accounting LLPs and recommend disciplinary action to the PAOC.

Under the Accountants Act, the PAOC administers the audit regulation of the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA).

In addition, he will also continue as a member of the Disciplinary Panel of the Institute of Valuers and Appraisers from 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2025.

The Institute of Valuers and Appraisers, Singapore (IVAS) seeks to broaden the Business Valuation talent pool, deepen their expertise, and enhance their reputation in the region. IVAS also develops competency frameworks, and promotes professional valuation standards.

IVAS is a member of the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC), the global standard setter for valuation.

In his role, Keng Wei will assess complaints against Chartered Valuer and Appraiser (CVA) holders by investigating and reviewing the findings through the Investigation Panel and Hearings Panel.
