Ellyn Tan

Ellyn Tan is a Partner - Singapore, Financial Advisory (Restructuring & Insolvency). She is a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner in Singapore.  She brings with her over 15 years of professional experience. She started her career at a Big 4 firm before moving to renowned consulting, advisory and investment firms. Ellyn was a Managing Director at a British business advisory firm before coming onboard to Mazars.

Ellyn is a specialist in cross-border restructuring and insolvency. She has worked with high profile clients across a wide range of business sectors. Ellyn has significant experience in managing litigation, asset recovery and restructuring engagements. This experience includes acting as the judicial manager of an investment company with a focus on supply chain, where she completed a sale of the subsidiary and guaranteed a return to unsecured creditors in cash, as well as a judicial manager of six special purpose vehicles (SPVs) which owned 13 tankers during a fleet restructuring. Ellyn was also engaged as a financial adviser to medium-term noteholders of a beleaguered water treatment company. Other notable engagements include providing liquidation advice for large companies in the logistics, tech and tourism industries.

As a notable name in the Singapore restructuring and insolvency industry, Ellyn is a Board Director of the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC). She has been actively involved in IWIRC since the founding of the Singapore chapter in 2019. Beyond the profession, Ellyn is a staunch advocate for women’s empowerment. She has dedicated her time as a mentor for MentorWalks and has benefited from the guidance of mentors through BoardAgender, and initiative of the Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations.

Ellyn is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and a Qualified Listed Entity Director, a certificate awarded by the Singapore Institute of Directors. Committed to professional development, she is currently pursuing a Masters in Intellectual Property and Innovation Management at the Singapore University of Social Sciences.

With her vast industry experience and expertise, Ellyn will focus on leading and expanding the restructuring and insolvency practice at Mazars in Singapore. As a specialist in complex and cross border restructuring and insolvency mandates, Ellyn will leverage on her acute understanding of the local market and a broad worldview to bolster our restructuring offering.
